Reporting on the 90th Anniversary of the International Scout Catholic Pilgrimage to Rome.
In 1925 over 10,000 scouts from Europe, Australia, New Foundland, Malta, the Middle East, the USA, England and Ireland travelled to Rome on a Catholic Scout Pilgrimage.
This report outlines the events when a smaller contingent returned to Rome some 90 years later in honour of the first pilgrimage.
Our base with modern facilities was a 13th century monastery, Villa Palazolla owned by the English college of Rome.
Situated on a hill some 18 miles from Rome overlooking Lake Albano, a dormant volcano and the Pope’s summer palace in Castel Gandolfo on the opposite shore.
The other outstanding highlight to write home about was a visit for afternoon tea with the British ambassador His Excellency Nigel Baker OBE to the Holy See,
whose top floor apartment overlooked Rome.
Out of this world! As was the tea and cakes served on Minton china.
Ann Ingleby the NCSF badge secretary continued her hobby of having photographs taken with celebrities,
With the ambassador being her latest achievement.
But, how does this compare to the photo taken with Bear in 2014?
You can read the whole report by "clicking here" or look for it in the Resources - Guidance and Information section.
